Who Created Daoism and Why?

A long time ago in the Chu state a legend was born, his name was Laozi. Some stories say that Laozi was born in 570 B.C.E. with white hair after spending eight or eighty years in his mother's womb. Guess that's why some people call him "the old master" and "the old child"! One of Laozi's great accomplishments was the creation of the religion Daoism. He founded Daoism because he was looking for a way to avoid the constant feudal welfare of his day that disrupted society. Laozi is probably most famous for writing the Tao-Te Ching. The Tao-Te Ching has been, and is widely influential in China. The book talks about areas of philosophy, individual spirituality, and techniques for governing societies. Then mysteriously one day Laozi  disappeared into the west after writing the Tao-Te Ching.

  1. All I have to say is WEIRD. First Laozi is born eighty years old, and then dies writing his own book. How old was he when he died? Good job researching facts.
